Internal Medicine Physicians
Internal Medicine physicians, or Internists, have had three years of specialty training in all aspects of adult medicine ranging from critical illnesses which require hospitalization, to more routine conditions. Just like Family Medicine physicians, Internists also work with specialists to manage chronic problems such as Pulmonary Disease, Diabetes and Neurological conditions.
Family Medicine Physicians
Physicians who are practicing Family Medicine represent concepts of the traditional family doctor. They have had experience of three additional years of specialized training in the fields of Medicine, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Surgical Diagnosis and Minor Surgery, Gynecology and Psychological Counseling. Their focus of care encompasses Preventative Medicine and the comprehensive care of each family member and the family unit as a whole, both young and old. When the services of a specialist are required, your family physician would recommend and work with the specialist to provide ongoing care. Family practice physicians establish lifelong relationships with patients, and their specialty is treatment of families and individuals at every stage of their lives.
