Ultrasound

Your physician my recommend you receive an ultrasound test to aid in treating your medical condition. An ultrasound test uses high-frequency sound waves to look at organs and structures inside the body. At Gulf Coast Medical Group, we use ultrasound to view the heart, blood vessles, kidneys, liver and other organs. Unlike x-rays, ultrasound does not involve exposure to radiation. During an ultrasound test, one of our highly skilled special technicians or doctors will move a device called a transducer over the part of your body. The transducer sends out sound waves, which then bounce off the tissues inside your body. The transducer also captures the waves that bounce back, and then images are created from these sound waves.

We offer ultrasound at our 1700 East Venice Avenue location only. Please call for an appointment (941) 483-9760.
